Greater Web Exposure for your Business

A number of web sites dedicated to people who work at home, in small businesses or work groups have asked us if we could let them have case studies of how our phone system has helped them improve their business. Please call us if you are able to help us, we will prepare the study for you and submit it for inclusion on these sites:

www.smallbiz.uk.com
www.telework.org.uk
www.telecomsadvice.org.uk
www.fsb.org.uk

If a case study is too much to ask - a testimonial is always very welcome!

Power Surges can seriously damage your phone system

Electrical storms and power supply problems can induce very high voltages into phone lines particularly overhead lines. Such voltages can easily destroy any equipment connected to the phone line. I have checked with Oftel today and BT's terms and conditions impose no liability on themselves to guarantee that their lines do not convey high voltages as a result of electrical storms to your premises. Like most other manufacturers, we provide protective devices that will limit damage against over voltage. Indeed the Robson meets the more demanding US specification. However even our devices cannot guarantee that your equipment will not be damaged and it is for this reason that we exclude this type of damage from our warranty conditions. So our advice is that you should make sure that you insurance policy covers you for this eventuality. Here are some web sites that feature power surge protection devices.

Power Failures

In the event of a power failure our phone system automatically connects calls incoming on trunk 1 to extension 1. So make sure that your most important incoming phone line is connected to trunk 1 and that you have a phone connected to extension 1 that you can hear during the power failure. Unlike ISDN2e, BT Highway will still let you use the phone during power failures. So a Robson connected via its first trunk to BT Highway's first analogue port will continue to be able to make and receive calls during a power failure.
